 My Brush With Fame In March of 2000, the British Rock Symphony played the Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University, Cleveland MS. My friend Bill Horton, production manager of the venue, was kind enough to hire me on to be a 'roadie' for the night. My main 'job' was to drive Billy Preston and Darlene Love from the hotel to the gig. After we dropped Darlene Love off at the gig, Billy asked me to drive him to get something to eat. We went to the Country Platter, a local 'soul food' eatery. He picked up an order of chitterlings - NO LIE!! Thanks to Bill, I had the supreme bragging rights of the night. Thanks Bill!
